Seishinkan Beginner Course February 2026

Some members of Seishinkan were part of the Singapore Team for the 19th World Kendo Championships held in Milan, Italy in July 2024. We are proud to have contributed to the history of the Singapore National Team and hope to nurture future leaders of Kendo in Singapore.

Representatives :
Oliver Ng - Mens' Teams
Jeffery Chung - Mens' Teams and Individuals
Gervinn Chan - Mens' Teams
Ng Zhi Qing - Ladies Individuals

Results :
The Mens' team fought valiantly and got out of the group stages, edging out Denmark on number of wins. The Singapore Mens' team met the United Kingdom team where a majority of their players achieved great results in the individuals category the day before. The Singapore Mens' team won 3-2 with the taisho match as the decider of the match. Our dojo master, Oliver, won the opponent with a decisive match of 2-0 against James Ogle from the United Kingdom. In the quarter final match, the Singapore Team was matched up against Korea and put up a great fight against them.

Oliver was awarded one of eight best fighting spirit award for the Mens' Team Category and the top 8 finishing of the Mens' Team cemented the first time a South East Asian Country getting into the quarter finals in the category.

Our member, Zhi Qing fought intensely in the individuals and obtained a victory over one of the opponents in the group. Unfortunately, the other member of the group was the Japanese representative whom eventually won the Ladies Individuals Category.

Oliver had a one-page featur in Kendo Jidai's October 2024 Edition on his achievement during the Mens Team Event
